Adventure Permits

We handle all necessary permits for your thrilling rides in Sikkim's restricted areas.

Protected Area Permit (PAP)

• Required For: Foreign nationals who wish to visit protected/border areas (e.g., North Sikkim, East Sikkim).

• Not Required For: Indian citizens.

• Issued By: Tourism and Civil Aviation Department, Gangtok (or through authorized travel agents)

• Validity: Usually 15 days (extendable)

Restricted Area Permit (RAP) / Special Permit

• Required For: Indian citizens visiting restricted regions like:

  • Nathula Pass

  • Tsomgo (Changu) Lake

  • Zuluk (Old Silk Route)

  • Gurudongmar Lake

  • Yumthang Valley

  • Lachung & Lachen

• Permits are Mandatory even for Indian Tourists in these areas.

• Bikes with Non-Sikkim registration (e.g., WB, AS) are NOT allowed beyond certain checkpoints.

• Only bikes with SK (Sikkim) registration are allowed.

Inner Line Permit (ILP)

• Required For: Foreign nationals visiting Sikkim.

• Not Needed For: Indian citizens.

• Where to Get: Sikkim Tourism offices (Delhi, Kolkata, Siliguri, Rangpo)
